The Maebashi City Museum of Literature.

  The Maebashi City Museum of Literature is located on the banks of the Hirose River. The main focus of the Museum is the poetic tradition of Maebashi, as many of Japan’s modern poets had Maebashi as their hometown. An entire room on the second floor is devoted to the work of the most exceptional of these poets, Sakutaro Hagiwara. There are two open gallery spaces on the first and third floors that regularly hold special exhibitions of art and literature, and free-entry reference library on the fourth floor containing most of the works of the Maebashi poets.

The Gunma Life Long Learning Center

  The Gunma Life Long Learning Center is a large multipurpose educational facility in Bunkyo-cho. The center’s mission statement is to provide continuing education to he citizens of the prefecture. Within the Center there is an open gallery space, a Children’s Science Museum, a planetarium, recreation hall, tennis courts and rentable seminar and music-practice rooms. The Center’s staff run regular and varied class programmes.

Hirose River Art Gallery

  The Hirose River Art Gallery was an art school for over fifty years, and during this time taught art to over 3,000 Maebashi residents. The school was then restored, and now displays teaching materials used when the school was operating, as well as holding special exhibitions.
